Hub Fest returns this weekend (25th - 27th Aug) - Electronic Music Focus

This weekend (25th - 27th August) Cardiff will see the return of the multi venue live music and arts festival 'Hub Fest'.

It was four years ago almost to the day that I ran an interview with Sam from Hub talking about the first ever year that Hub was running (

And it seems that Hub is still going strong despite so many challenges that have faced Womanby Street, a street name that every music lover should know by now thanks to the #savewomanbystreet campaign  ( ) and the street where Hub Fest will be located.

The list of performers is once again exhaustive. Covering all aspects of Cardiffs multi dimensional music. On this one street you will find Hippies rubbing shoulders with Punks rubbing shoulders with Street Rats rubbing shoulders with Pirates rubbing shoulders with Dandies rubbing shoulders with Rock ’n Rollers rubbing shoulders with Androids and some.

Electronic acts peppered across the 3 days of live music across 13 stages*:

Castle Emporium, Clwb Ifor Bach upstairs and downstairs, Bootlegger, The Moon, Fuel, Tiny Rebel, The Street, The Busk Stop, Jones Court, City Arms, Sully's/Blue Honey Night Cafe and Sully's Yard.

Electronic acts appearing across the three days include Kayla Painter, Tetrahex, 5th Spear, Cotton Wolf, Saccharyn, Kid Kosmic, Acouchristo, MY NAME IS IAN, PARCS, R.Seiliog, ANi GLASS, Sly & The Family Drone, Boris a Bono, Mute Groups, Minas and The Hold Up.

On Sunday at the same venue will be more relaxing sounds from a slew of artists including Boris a Bono ( and Acouchristo (

CMA and Forte also host a day of musical out pouring at Tiny Rebel on the Sunday featuring  footwork and beats producer Tetrahex and PARCS the electronic shoe gaze act making ripples.

Bubblewrap and Sound Affects Sunday event in Clwb will see R Seiliog ( ) and Cotton Wolf ( ). In the same venue - SLY AND THE FAMILY DRONE  ( ).

There will also be live Hip Hop on the street itself hosted by The Hold Up Crew ( ).
